Tola
Tola refers to a region of the Pacific coast of Nicaragua north of San Juan del Sur. The region starts with Brito beach and goes all the way to the turtle reserve at Chacocente.
Tola is home to some of the best surf beaches in all of Nicaragua. This stretch of Nicaraguan pacific coast is famous for not only it’s great surf but also the dramatic coastline and is a region that is great for someone who likes to explore on their own.

Tourist Attractions in Tola
Chococente Natural Reserve
This is one of the largest sea turtles reserves in Nicaragua. Olive Ridley is the most common turtle to lay its eggs in this reserve. The leatherback, the hawksbill and the pacific green sea turtle can all be seen at Chacocente.
Gigante beach
Pie de Gigante (Giants foot) is the first community that you arrive at after passing through Tola. The beach at Gigante is a gorgeous off the beaten path stretch of sand. Gigante is a small community of about 500 people.
Guasacate beach
This is small indigenous village located near the famous surf spot, Popoyo. There are a few hundred locals that make Guasacate home but the surf real estate and surf beaches and what drive most of the tourist traffic.
