San Juan del Sur has played host to some exciting events in the last few weeks. Musicfest Nicaragua 2008 was held at the newly remodeled sports park and boardwalk along the rejuvenated waterfront.
There are new streetlamps on the northern side of the bay and work continues on other civic improvements. The road from the Pan-American highway into San Juan del Sur is being resurfaced and scheduled to finish in September. The main street that passes by the cathedral and newly remodeled park has been completed and work on the Boardwalk continues.
